Enterprise-grade Assessments

Technical screening often materializes in the form of whiteboard coding challenges, which seldom reflect the real work. Litebulb assesses your candidates on real world projects with complex, enterprise-grade tech stacks relevant to the role and product.

Fully
Automated

The Litebulb Skills Engine™ autonomously analyzes candidate code submissions and documentation using a combination of static analysis tools, compile-time and runtime testing modules, and NLP analysis. The result is a fully automated technical onsite interview.

High-fidelity
Profiles

The Litebulb Skills Engine™ analyzes over 50 attributes per candidate, aggregates and visualizes the data into a holistic, high-fidelity candidate profile for you to review! These attributes include Code Complexity, Structure, Naming, Version Control, Functionality, Performance, Logging, Testing, Documentation, and many more.

Full Funnel Bias Reduction

The Litebulb Skills Engine™ analyzes candidate project performance autonomously and objectively, resulting in deep, purely data-driven candidate analytics that substantially reduce bias in hiring.

Here's how it works

Create your open roles

Specify details about the team, responsibilities, tech stack, level of experience, culture, etc

Litebulb learns and understands your needs by guiding you through the creation and activation of your specific job requirements

Share link with your candidates

Candidates can immediately start the technical interview through that link

Each role gets a unique generated link, you can share this via your Careers page, through an email campaign (ie: Mailchimp), or individually to any candidate you'd like interviewed

Monitor interview progress

Observe in real-time as your candidates start to progress through their interviews

Litebulb keeps the assessment process fully transparent and updated in real-time, so you see all commits, documentation, and test results as the candidates are working along

Review submissions

Over time, we recommend top performing candidates depending on the attributes you value more

We understand that the expectations for every role is different, so Litebulb's recommendations are tailored to role-specific values

Step 5

Welcome your new hires!

And watch their productivity soar

Litebulb will continuously help you save time interviewing new hires so that you can focus on team and product growth

Detailed technical skills assessments, at scale

Litebulb's enterprise-grade interview projects closely simulate real engineering work on complex, production tech stacks. These real development environments allow Litebulb to evaluate candidates as if they were on the job, enabling us to pick up on maximally relevant signals that other interviewing tools simply cannot provide.

We're on a mission to make
employment in tech easy

At Litebulb, we believe that employment can and should be meaningful and rewarding, and finding a new job or hiring a new employee should be an enjoyable experience for everyone. We take a skills-first, pedigree-agnostic approach to bring out hidden talent, increase diversity, and reduce hiring risk. We ensure that employers and candidates with similar goals and values are highlighted so that we may improve employment satisfaction, team culture, and employee retention.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of assessment projects does Litebulb offer?
Chevron

We offer a variety of enterprise-grade projects for several popular tracks. For each track, we have several projects using popular tech stacks and industry-standard frameworks, each with a different problem statement. The tracks that we currently support are:

1. Full Stack Web Engineer
2. Frontend Web Engineer
3. Backend Engineer
4. iOS Engineer

We are actively expanding our list of supported tracks.

How long does the project last?
Chevron

Projects take anywhere between half an hour to several hours to complete, depending on level of experience, though candidates have 2 days to complete the project asynchronously. This is primarily to ensure that we do not discriminate against candidates that may not have the circumstantial privilege to sit down for a single multi-hour session.

Do you interview our candidates face to face?
Chevron

Though we believe in the value of face to face interviews (and encourage you to do so in addition to Litebulb's assessments), we do not interview your candidates face to face. Rather, the Litebulb Skills Engine is designed to extract a high volume of relevant and unbiased data on your candidates' skills, behaviors, and mental models. We believe automation of technical interviewing will drastically reduce bias in hiring.

How does the Litebulb Skills Engine work?
Chevron

The Litebulb Skills Engine is a culmination of a series of cloud services that dissects, analyzes, and tests candidates' project submissions. The Skills Engine runs submissions against a suite of static and dynamic code analysis tools, E2E integration tests, unit tests, performance load tests, and our proprietary AI-powered code quality detector. The results of this analysis are aggregated and formatted into your candidate interview report, and compared against your role's cohort and that project's full history of attempts to see where your candidates stack up against each other and the industry.

How do you prevent cheating?
Chevron

All project submissions are automatically checked against previous submissions of the same project, so any time we find a suspicious match, a ticket is created and we manually investigate the case. Any project that is deemed to be widely leaked will be deactivated from future use on the platform, and any candidate deemed to have leaked the project will be banned from the platform. The team is constantly creating and optimizing assessment projects, so we will always be generating new projects faster than old projects can get leaked.

How much does this cost?
Chevron

Contact us and we'll let you know about our pricing plans!

What if Litebulb doesn't have any projects similar enough to our tech stack?
Chevron

If you use particularly rare frameworks or libraries, it may happen that Litebulb does not have any projects that relate close enough to what the role needs. If this is the case, send an email to support@litebulb.io and our team will be happy to prioritize generating a project within your relevant domain and stack!

Do you offer any support?
Chevron

Yes we do! Our support team is available from Monday to Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM PST, so any time you have a question or need help with something, you can reach us at support@litebulb.io and we'll be happy to help!
